The division is in charge of food safety issues relating to the
control of microbiological and chemical hazards in foods
contaminated in the food chain. The division consists of four
sections.

The section one (1st laboratory) deals with the pathogenic
microorganisms in foods.

The section two (2nd laboratory) deals with development and
accreditation of the detection methods for marine toxins.

The section three (3rd laboratory) deals with epidemiology and
microbiological risk assessment of foodborne diseases.

The section four (4th laboratory) deals with studies for
control methods of viruses in foods.
