7 Tasks for future studies

Bisphenol A, phthalic acid esters and nonylphenol, dealt with by the present guidelines, are substances of which microanalysis is very difficult due to contamination of samples in laboratory environment. The guidelines presented here were developed using the most advanced procedures and instruments (GC/MS, LC/MS, LC/MS/MS) available in public research institutes.
Accumulation of analytical data on a large number of biological samples according to the guidelines is indispensable for understanding of biological effects of endocrine disruptors. A problem is that laboratories capable of conducting analysis according to the guidelines are still small in number.
Further advances in analytical procedures to improved efficiency, precision and sensitivity are expected. Related information must be followed closely for appropriate modification and extension of the guidelines.
