Chapter 2: Summary and action plan

Prior research results have found so far no certain case of endocrine disruption in humans, except the pharmacological action of synthetic hormone preparations. This does not mean that chemical exposure never causes endocrine disruption in humans, but it is now fairly sure that critical ages are the fetal and adolescent phases. In addition, data on mechanisms of manifestation of adverse effects have been accumulated.
Based on these findings, the action plan presented in the Interim Report was revised as a guide for future studies.
