On April 1, 2024 (Reiwa 6), the administrative work of food safety standards was transferred from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) to the Consumer Affairs Agency (CAA). Along with this, the description of this handbook will be revised sequentially. The current descriptions are based on the information as of in 2023 (Reiwa 5), so please read them on the food safety standard administration with replacing the words "Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare" to "Consumer Affairs Agency".

The Handbook for the Procedure is FADCC's easy-to-understand explanations of the contents of the Procedure. We hope you will find it helpful when you prepare the Overview document for designation and revision of specifications or standards of food additives.

Standards for Risk Assessment
